Summer Yosemite Engagement Session | Hayley & Justin
This summer Yosemite Engagement session was unparalleled! There's nothing like running around Yosemite National Park on a summer day! The weather was 72 degrees and sunny with some clouds, the exact day you’d want in Yosemite! Although it was a tad bit smoky from the nearby wildfires. Make sure to keep this in mind when planning a Yosemite engagement session as it is wildfire season during the summer! BUT nonetheless, we were very impressed with how clear the day was!
One of my favorite parts about doing a Yosemite engagement session is that you can take your time with the experience and the day! It’s the best place to live in the present moment, slow down during sunrise, and appreciate the serene landscape and Mother nature surrounding you. That’s exactly what Hayley and Justin did during this Yosemite engagement session!
Yosemite Engagement Session Itinerary
Shooting their Yosemite Engagement session was so much fun! They were complete naturals when it came to being photographed. I remember telling them they just fit like little puzzle pieces. He's goofy and she laughs at all of his jokes. It made for the most perfect candid shots between the two of them. There wasn’t a second during their engagement session that they weren’t being complete goofballs and I loved it!
Tunnel View
We had Hayley and Justin’s Yosemite engagement session during sunrise at Tunnel View. Which I firmly believe everyone has to experience in their lifetime. It takes your breath away. I remember it was such a surreal way to begin the day!! Tunnel View is just outside of Wawona Tunnel on State Highway 41. There’s no hiking required which is a huge plus for any couples that aren’t into a big trek and there's an ample amount of parking! But, keep in mind that this spot can be very popular with a lot of tourists especially during the summer so you want to try to arrive early enough to get in enough photos! However, it is one of the best views in Yosemite and is a must-see!
After getting a few couple portraits at Tunnel View we headed further into Yosemite to explore the area and run around in the fields! Hayley and Justin brought two different outfits so they both changed and began to explore. I loved the way Hayley's satin dress looked while they ran around. It was definitely a statement dress with the Yosemite hills in the background.
Couple Portraits
I still can’t get over how beautiful Yosemite is and how both Hayley and Justin made taking their photos so fun and easy! I loved being able to get tons of candid photos of them having the time of their life and being themselves. You could feel the love they had for each other throughout the entire day. I like to take a candid approach, letting things unfold naturally and capturing them in all of their perfect imperfection and I was beyond happy I could do this for both of them!
Final Thoughts
A lot of couples before their engagement shoots tend to feel nervous or say they say are “awkward” in front of the camera but I promise to always direct you when needed, always avoiding anything stiff and awkward! I'm a big believer that you should be in love with the experience in front of my camera just as much as you love your gallery at the end of it all!
