I can’t get over how wonderful this Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach wedding was!! It was truly a modern-day fairytale! From the venue to the reception and the getaway car! I can’t say enough about this day and you’ll see why!

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Wedding Venue

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is an absolutely stunning luxury wedding venue here in Dana Point, CA. I was beyond excited when Alexa and Bannock told me that they were going to get married here as it is so elevated and unique, my kind of venue! I loved the European essence it had as well as the perfect blend of laid-back luxury that Southern California has to offer. Not only that, but when you see the views from the venue you’ll never want to leave. The Monarch Beach Resort is on 175 acres and atop a 150-foot seaside bluff where you can see and smell the ocean breeze, I mean who wouldn’t want to get married here?!

The Couple

Without getting too ahead myself, I just have to say that Alexa and Bannock were the epitomai of true love! Alexa and Bannock had known each other for years through family friends and one day something just clicked and they’ve been together ever since! Throughout their entire Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach wedding you felt their love for one another. All that mattered to them was that they were getting married and celebrating it with those they cared about most.

From start to finish both Alexa and Bannock had such a laid-back approach to each moment of the day and their calm demeanor really dictated the mood for the whole day. And what I loved most about the entire wedding was that although it was a very luxury-styled event they made you feel like you were at their home hanging out with them. My favorite thing about working with my couples is that not only do I get to capture their unforgettable moments but I get to know them and feel as if we’ve known each other for years, which I truly felt with Alexa and Bannock!

Wedding Itinerary

Alexa and Bannock's day began with getting ready photos, don’t get me started on how jaw-droppingly gorgeous both Alexa and Bannock looked. They both looked so chic and dapper. Alexa wore an A-line mermaid wedding dress with a tiara to give that little spice while Bannock wore a forest green tux. After capturing a few heartfelt moments while everyone was getting ready we took first-look portraits. One of my many favorite moments to capture between the bride and groom.

Wedding Reception Details

Following the first look were wedding party portraits and the moment we were all waiting for, the wedding ceremony and reception! Thanks to A Good Affair the reception was to die for! I couldn’t help but stare at every single detail in awe, from the mirrored tabletops to the insane dessert display, AND the thousands of twinkly lights hanging from above combined with dazzling chandeliers! (Definitely one of my favorite details of the night!)

Wedding Reception Moments

One moment that sticks out to me from the entire day was at the very end of the reception, right before they took off in their vintage getaway car. Bannock who is a classical pianist wrote Alexa a song. Which she had no idea about and played in front of everyone! They looked like they were in their own little world and it had everyone in tears, including me! If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for romance!

Final Thoughts

Capturing Alexa and Bannock's Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach wedding was one for the books! I loved capturing all the feelings that were had throughout the day and am so excited to photograph more for both of them in the future.
