I can't really find the words to describe Alaska. It feels like it's too good to be real like you're on another planet. Summer in Alaska is my favorite time to visit, simply because of how green everything is! You'll be met with epic mountains and clear skies, and maybe even some moody fog. Being an elopement photographer in places like Alaska means being up for any hiking adventure, and the Hatchers Pass area is perfect for an authentic Alaska session or elopement! My couple started out in a remote location just outside of Fishhook Trailhead, where we had tons of space all to ourselves. After we finished shooting there, we pulled off the road to find the most stunning mountain view. This spot wasn't far from Summit Lake, which is another jaw-dropping spot!
Alaska is the perfect spot for epic wedding photos or elopement photos. Even if you just wanted a couples session, it would certainly be memorable! I highly recommend visiting Alaska from June-September, when the temperatures are comfortable and the days are longest. If you're looking to avoid rain, May is historically the driest month. The most popular cities are Anchorage and Juneau if you're looking for a place to stay. Personally, I really loved staying in Anchorage since it was close to tons of the sights I wanted to see! If you're really up for adventure, Denali National Park would also be worth looking into.
Here are just a few other spots where you can elope in Alaska:
